We have an excellent opportunity for a Full-time Human Resources Business Partner based in our Irvine, CA office*.  The HR Business Partner will report to an HR Supervisor of the HR Department.  The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic partner and provides broad HR consultation to an assigned group of Stores and Divisional Managers, with a focus on Associate relations and performance management.

*This position is full-time, in-office only.

General Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on a broad array of HR issues, including coaching, counseling, performance management, workplace accommodations, conflict resolution, engagement, and building positive work environments.
  • Conduct internal investigations on workplace situations that may be highly sensitive, confidential, or complex and prepare all required documentation with a focus on issue resolution.
  • Partner with managers on the development of corrective action and implementation of performance improvement plans.
  • Responsible for the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide analysis and recommend appropriate action and education to managers and/or associates on specific HR issues.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends to address business issues related to areas such as training, engagement, staffing, and retention.
  • Contribute to the development and facilitation of training seminars for leaders on various HR topics.
  • Engage in other employee relation duties and complete HR projects as needed.
Work Schedule + Benefits

Full-time, Exempt
Hours: 9/80 compressed workweek with occasional Saturday shifts required (approximately 5 per year)
Some scheduling flexibility is required for off-site meetings and travel to satellite offices

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree is preferred
  • 4-6 years of Human Resources and Employee Relations experience, including working with HR processes and policies for a multi-state employer with a large hourly population and knowledge of California labor laws. 
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to build trusting partnerships across the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to invoke change by influencing rather than directing management.
  • Ability to strategically analyze data and examine issues while identifying themes and creating solutions. 
  • Employee relations, employment law, compensation, performance management, and recruitment skills.
  • Professional and confidential in all interactions with proven coaching and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; presentation skills desired.
  • Outstanding organizational skills; including the ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines, as well as multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • This position requires approximately 10% travel to both local and out of state locations.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) is a plus.
