As part of In-N-Out’s Accounting Team, the Accounting and Finance Systems Manager oversees the design, implementation, future-state roadmap, customization, configuration, enhancement, maintenance and administration of the company’s accounting ERP system as well as related systems and tools. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation, and stays on to become the main point of contact. 

*this is a full-time, 100% in office position


Key Responsibilities

  • ERP Accounting System Implementation:  Leads accounting systems pre-project activities, project implementation, performance and reporting, including adherence to project scope, financial targets, adherence to schedule and post-implementation review.  Provides timely and thorough status updates.
  • Functional Analysis:  Provide guidance on the strategy, design, implementation and maintenance of accounting systems. Lead the development and design of the accounting systems and relevant ERP modules (payroll, timekeeping, AP, lease accounting, sales and use tax, GL and reporting, etc).  Partner with IT and other subject matter experts to ensure optimal use of systems, integrations and business requirements.
  • Sustainment: Maintain awareness of current trends in accounting technology with a focus on product and service development, compliance and support.  Assists with vendor contracts and vendor management.
  • System Maintenance: Consult with key stakeholders to ensure data integrity, testing of system changes, report and dashboard creation and analyzing workflows for process improvement opportunities. Work with functional and technical teams to coordinate application upgrades with other tools or systems. Coordinate the review, testing and implementation of accounting information system upgrades or changes. Engage in and support other technical projects as relevant.
  • User Support: Oversee and support the accounting systems including, but not limited to Associate support and problem solving. Identify trends and ways to proactively resolve gaps. Research and resolve system problems; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
  • Projects/Process Improvement: Use project management skills to develop project plans and monitor accounting system initiatives.  Identify gaps between current and future state of business processes and prioritize opportunities to improve processes.  Recommend process improvements, innovative solutions and ways to remain compliant with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Reports/Queries: Assist with accounting team reporting and analytics needs.  Oversees the creation and maintenance of a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Maintains data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
  • Training: Collaborate with our accounting team leaders to develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train and develop team members on new processes/functionality and delegate the training of new system users.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; major in Computer Science, Information Science, Accounting, or similar field.
  • Requires 7+ years of a combination of professional experience in information systems management and/or accounting/finance roles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of both accounting information systems, and data and database methods and practices.
  • Prior experience managing the implementation and configuration of ERP accounting modules and other accounting system implementation projects.
  • Proven track record of identifying and leading continuous improvement efforts.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.  Must be able to collaborate with users of all skill levels.
  • Experience with project management processes, techniques and methodologies.
